Nuit Blanche – volunteers needed!

Nuit Blanche is fast approaching (as in this weekend!) and Streetknit is going to be a part of it.  We’ll be at the Gladstone, on the second floor, knitting blanket squares all night long.  And because it is such a long night (for the non-night owls among us anyway), we need volunteers to staff our exhibit during the wee hours.  So if you’d like to be a part of Nuit Blanche, email me at streetknit(AT)gmail(DOT)com and let me know when you’re available.  If you can’t commit to an hour or two, feel free to drop by and visit us anyway.  We’ll have needles and yarn and anyone who wants to knit a row or two (or even learn to knit a row or two) will be happily accomodated.  Hope to see you there!

We will try to stop by. I can certainly donate some mini-soak samples for treats for the knitters and volunteers who will be knitting! Send thoughts. Thanks. -j

I work at the Florence Crane Women’s correctional facility in Coldwater Michigan, which is a level I mens facility. We have a crochet project where we make blankets, hats, gloves and mittens for the needy. We have made well over 100 lap blankets that we have donated to the Veterans Hospital and various nursing homes. This is a volunteer project for the Prisoners and we are dependent on yarn donations. I found your site and it apprared there were alot of contacts. If you would be in a position of having excess yarn (ends of skeins, odds and ends) we would be so grateful for a donation. Thank you so much Terri Huffman
