Tuesday Evening Knitting Circle

This past Tuesday I was invited to visit a knitting circle held at the Kennedy and Eglinton branch of the Toronto Public Library.  I was made most welcome by a lovely bunch of ladies of all ages and thoroughly enjoyed myself!  So much so that I’m going to ask my local branch if they would be interested in hosting one!  A few bags of yarn as left for the knitters to turn into hats and scarves for Streetknit (let me know when you run out ladies, I have lots!) and I’m looking forward to my return visit to pick up the completed items and to spend some time knitting in such good company.  A huge thank you to Marie for organizing the knitting group and for inviting me over!  If you live near Kennedy and Eglinton, stop by on Tuesday nights between 6 and 8 – all knitters (and even crocheters!) are welcome.

My name is Jon and I was at the streetknit 2 sundays ago.

i just wanted to confirm the location of tonight’s streetknit.

So, it has been moved to kennedy and eglington library, instead of the place on dundas?

    Hi Jon

The regular monthly knitup (last Tuesday of every month) is held at Wise Daughters and will continue to be. The knitting group in this post is one set up at the library and run by them. Streetknit is a recipient of some of their knit goods.

I was delighted to see this post! I’m a librarian at TPL. A lot of branches are starting knitting circles. I myself started a Knitters’ Drop-In this past winter at the newly-reopened Cedarbrae Branch (Lawrence and Markham Rd). Please come by and visit with us! Everyone is welcome. I’m hoping to rev up some of our regular members to join me in knitting up some items over the summer to give to Streetknit in the fall.

    Hi Glenda,
You can drop off your donations at any of the locations listed on the right hand side of the blog (go to the main page if you can’t see them). The closest to you is probably Sew Be it or KnitoMatic. I’m not sure what you mean by used yarn, but we do take yarn donations as well. And the granny squares are most welcome. Thanks for your support of Streetknit!
